These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and ApplyMate Pte Ltd, a company registered in Singapore (the “Company”, “we”, “us”), governing your access to and use of applymate.com and the ApplyMate web application (the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher) and able to form a binding contract under the law that applies to you. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password and account credentials secure.
- You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. Notify us at security@applymate.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You may close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. See section 9 for what happens to your data.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to apply for jobs on behalf of someone else without their consent.
- Submit content you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes another person’s rights.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our prompts, model parameters, or underlying systems beyond the Service’s normal user interface.
- Probe or attack the Service, bypass authentication, exceed rate limits, or interfere with other users.
- Use the Service to generate misleading content for fraudulent purposes (e.g., to apply to jobs under a false identity).
- Resell, white-label, or sublicense the Service without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.
4. AI-generated content
- The Service uses Anthropic Claude models to draft resumes, cover letters, and match analysis based on your master profile and the job posting you provide.
- Strict Truth Mode is on by default and cannot be disabled. The model is instructed never to invent skills, experience, dates, employers, or metrics not present in your source material. We cannot guarantee an AI never makes a mistake; you remain responsible for reviewing every document before sending it to a recruiter.
- Outputs are provided “as is”. The Service does not guarantee any particular outcome (interviews, offers, salary, employment).
- You own the documents you generate and the underlying profile content. You grant us a limited licence to host and process them solely to provide the Service to you (see section 7).
5. Plans, billing, and trials
- Free plan: available without payment, subject to the limits published on the pricing page.
- Paid plans (Pro, Career) are billed monthly or annually in advance. Prices are shown on the pricing page in the currency you are charged.
- A free trial may be offered at sign-up. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the paid plan begins automatically and you are billed the published price.
- You can cancel any time from Settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access through the end of the period already paid for. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months.
- We may change prices on at least 30 days’ notice. Changes apply to renewals after the notice period.
- Taxes (GST, VAT, sales tax) may be added depending on your jurisdiction.
Note: at the time of publication paid plans may not yet be available in all regions. Where the Service is currently free of charge, only the free-plan terms apply.
6. Refunds
If you are unhappy within the first 14 days of a new paid subscription, email support@applymate.com and we will refund your most recent payment in full. Beyond 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
7. Intellectual property
- Your content: you retain all rights to the profile data and uploaded files you submit, and to the resumes and cover letters generated from them. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transmit, and process your content solely to provide the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required by law.
- Our content: the Service, including software, design, prompts, and documentation, is owned by the Company and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for its intended purpose.
- Feedback: if you send us feedback or feature suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
8. Privacy
Our handling of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Use of cookies is described in the Cookie Policy. Both are part of these Terms.
9. Termination
- You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Your account is locked immediately and your personal data is permanently erased 30 days later. Email privacy@applymate.com to request immediate erasure.
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if your activity poses a security or legal risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice and a chance to respond.
- Sections 4, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13 survive termination.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular employment outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company and its directors, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, employment opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those places, the limits apply only to the extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company from any third-party claim arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) content you submit that infringes a third party’s rights or applicable law.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination, will be submitted to and finally resolved by the courts of Singapore, except that you may bring claims in the courts of your country of residence where required by mandatory consumer-protection law.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here, and we will notify you by email or in-app where required. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance.
15. Miscellaneous
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- If a clause is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
